Would it not be better if Ashes series was curtailed to 3 Tests & 3 odi's instead of quality series with SA?

though Aussies must be keen to win back Ashes but SA is going to give them better chance at recovery than meaningless 6-1 thrashing of Poms like just before the W.C. didn't help matters, in fact SA & Indian series should be made up of at least 5 Tests per tour, that would enable Aussies to recapture their past glory else they are going to become a mediocre team who plays Eng & N.Z & sometimes Pakistan to hone their skills, which they will never find back, good luck & really no hard feelings pl.
