You did right in asking for space. That way, you can get all your thoughts together and know if you truly do miss him. Some parents prefer their child to marry someone that is highly educated with money, whereas other parents just want the happiness of their child. If you truly love him, then no matter what circumstance you are in, you should still feel joy, contentment, and love. Remember what marriage vows sat..."for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." If you can't do that with him, then maybe he isn't the one for you. You just have to tell your family that you are happy with him and that they should want your happiness.
