What does it mean if he texts me 'hi' once or twice a day?

My twin sis took him to a dance just as a friend. The entire night he was staring at me. Now he texts me everyday hi or hey. Sometimes twice. A lot of the times it's just to tell me he got a new phone or he won a game. Just mainly what he did even if I didn't ask. I asked him if it bothered him.that I texted him and he said no, why would you think that. Then the day after he texted me. I asked him what's up and he told me then asked me back and I told him I just finished watching a movie and I he asked me what it was about then he was like sounds interesting. Then he was like anything else interesting? Those two facts were probably useless but I thought I would mention them! Im 15 he's 16 but we're both going to be juniors
