Alexandra or Alexandria? And why?

When I hear Alexandria, I immediately think of the city in Egypt. So I like Alexandra better. Also, my best friend in high school is named Alexandra, though went by Sandy. I think Xandra would be a cool nickname. Most nicknames end up being two syllables anyway, and the five syllable Alexandria is pretty long to say.
