What are the limitations from joining the Army with West Point education?
Ok, so the most I know about West Point is that you are immediately recognized as an Officer (so Lieutenant or higher, and also gains you the Ranger tab) when you graduate and it's especially helpful on honing all of your skills, mostly leadership, physical, and mental skills. So what I want to know is: If I go into the Army through West Point, could I be a Field Medic (and yes I know you don't need a degree to be a Field Medic, but that's one of the careers I am planning on doing when I join) or even then, will I be sent out into combat? And how would my West Point education help me in the Army life (outside of combat), because if I can't be a Field Medic I plan on trying out for Special Forces.
