How to record screaming vocals properly?

Me and a friend have been working with recording vocals lately and mine are really loud. I was wondering if there is a way to get the loudness and static/peaks out of the track. I even stand back a ways and any further would be just too unrealistic. Any specific software or mic we should use? I know its possible as Danny worsnop of asking Alexandria screamed extremely loud in their first album and it sounded fine. Thanks for the help
